As you may have already read, my first book, The Simple Screamer: A Guide to the Art of Papier and Cloth Mache, was published in 1984. Shortly after the book was published I started getting letters and photos in the mail of Screamers people had made. First it was a trickle, then a stream. After a while I had boxes of photos of happy people with their paper mache monsters. I loved it. This still continues to this day, only now people send me photos via email. When I first published this site I decided to post photos of other people’s work so that everyone could share them. And I posted hundreds of them. Unfortunately they evaporated when my site was suspended. Arggh! Now that I must rebuild the site I will have to find the original photos people sent me and re-post them. It is going to take some time. If you are someone who had a photo on my site before it was suspended, I apologize. I will certainly try to re-post your photo. But if after a while you still don’t them, contact me and/or send me another photo.
I have to say that I really love sharing other people’s paper mache work, whether or not they use my techniques. (In fact, I don’t even mind if it’s not paper mache, so long as it is sculpture.) So I will present them here for you to enjoy. If you would like to share photos of your amazing project on this site, just send a decent photo to: dan@gourmetpapermache.com. If you have a caption you want me to add, please let me know. Otherwise I’ll just write something like, “John’s paper mache Kangaroo”. I’ll only use your last name if you tell me it’s okay.
